APPOINTMENT OF MICHAEL ASHTON AS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
London, UK, 15 December 2005 - Proximagen Neuroscience plc (AIM: PRX), the specialty drug discovery and development company focused on neurodegenerative diseases, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Ashton as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.
Michael Ashton, aged 59, is Chief Executive Officer of SkyePharma plc. He became Chief Executive in November 1998 having served on the Board since March 1997. Michael has over 32 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry having worked for Merck Inc., Pfizer Inc., Purepac Inc. and prior to joining SkyePharma, Faulding Inc., where he was Chairman, President and CEO. He is currently Non-Executive Director of Transition Therapeutics Inc., Astralis Limited, Vital Living Inc and Hikma Pharmaceuticals plc.
The company also wishes to announce that George Murlewski, a Non-Executive Director, is retiring from the Board with effect from 31 December 2005. Mr Murlewski, is spin-out company mentor at King's College.

Proximagen confirms that, save for the above, there are no other matters under
paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 of the AIM rules to be announced.
