Proximagen Makes strong Aim debut
Proximagen Neuroscience, the drug company that specialises in neurodegenerative diseases, reported a strong performance in its maiden results after listing on Aim on March 31.
On turnover up from £581,000 to £631,000, pre-tax profit was £149,000 in the six months to May 31 against £20,000 in the previous six months. The figures were flattered by net interest receivable of £103,000. Operating profit increased from £14,000 to £46,000.
Proximagen filed four patent applications in the period, covering protein fragments and treatments for Parkinson s disease.
The shares, which listed at 148P, rose 2p to 141.5p yesterday.
